Most of us are normally aware of functionality of transmitter. Work of a transmitter could be explained very easily, it it converts electrical energy into a signal and then transmits through the carriers such as wires and cables which is accepted by output devices such as speakers, television, and music stereo system etc.

With Bluetooth technology on the rise, companies have created a Bluetooth transmitter that transfers electrical energy wirelessly into output devices. Because of this devices in a room integrate and talk with each other with out any wires.

Bluetooth Transmitter has a microchip that allows wireless communication among devices. This microchip can be integrated in phones, iPods and computers which are Bluetooth enabled so that you can send audio to a wireless speaker with the help of a Bluetooth transmitter.

Based upon the configuration and range of the Bluetooth transmitter it can connect to other devices . With the help of the Bluetooth transmitter you can integerate your BT enabled phone to your notebook, your stereo system with your headphone and many other combinations.

You can send voice or data message into the device using a bluetooth transmitter. It is done by transmitting the data or audio through a radio communication link using radiowaves that are not very powerful. The required out put is received by sending to the receiver, the demodulated waves.

For instance if you are sending an audio signal via Bluetooth, it gets converted to a digital signal by an audio decoder. It is then received by the output device in that signal which allows it to play the audio through the speakers.

The BT transmission is very commonly done between iPods and stereo speakers. Cell phones and computers are also used for data transmission. The mechanism of a BT transmitter would by difficult to understand by a layman but it does not matter as long as you know how to connect it and get what you want out of the device.

Lots of ipods already have BT transmitter built in them so you need require to reinstall a Bluetooth transmitter device in them to enable them to talk to your speakers.

The audio transmission from an iPod to ear phone can be achieved,if they are enabled with Bluetooth. Having a iPod with BT transmitter compatibility helps you use the device with absolute easy when it comes to transfer data or audio into a computer or stereo speakers/earphones.

Plus these iPods also have easy to use control buttons making it convenient to handle functions such as adjusting volume, changing tracks and pausing or playing songs. With the BT transmitter enable iPod you don’t require any special setup or installation.

Of all the network solutions available, wireless internet gives you the freedom to be online without the need for extensive cabling. However, wireless internet is also more vulnerable to cyber attacks – particularly if it is inactive for long periods of time. If you are having trouble with your wireless network, the following list of network support pointers should help to set you right.

1) Power cycle the system by shutting it down and switching it back on after 30 seconds.

2) Check the network settings in order to verify the IP address and other related information.

3) Determine whether your network card is working adequately.A way to identify a malfunctioning adapter is by disabling the cards one by one.

4) Try moving a portable host (e.g ypur laptop) closer to the router. If it works better, interference of low signal strength is the reason for the poor internet access.

5) Remember to check the functionality of the wireless router and access points. Adjust the antenna to get an optimum signal. Most wireless routers should come with omni-directional antennae to send signals in all directions – a situation appropriate for a square shaped network.

6) Try changing the location of the router and access point. Ideally they should be placed central to all of the computers.

7) Examine signal performance by using the monitoring utility that typically comes with the access point.

Check your devices are showing the correct lights. There is no universal standard to indicate wireless router functionality so make sure that you check the devices manuals to see which lights indicates what function.

9) Use wireless internet connection utilities to check the SSIDs and channel’s neighbouring wireless networks are using.

10) Check that all the correct drivers have been installed.

11) Check the config settings for encryption keys.

If you are still struggling then it can be a good idea to contact the manufacturer of your wireless router or a network supervisor.

It was in 1999 that Compaq launched iPAQ having the functions of a pocket personal computer and a personal digital assistant (PDA). With the acquisition of Compaq by Hewlett Packard, the products began to be marketed as HP products. iPAQ combines the functions of mobile phone, palm top computer, PDA and smart phone. It also has GPS facility, wireless networking, a card reader and Bluetooth interface. The Microsoft Windows interface gives iPAQ all the benefits of having multimedia capabilities.

There are very many applications in PDAs. The user can actually decide what kind of applications are to be incorporated. PDAs have applications that are useful in medicine. It assists in diagnosis of disease, treatment and the selection of drugs. It can record symptoms as well as present information on treatments. PDAs are applied in the educational field, particularly by students. The relevant tasks that it can execute are digital note taking and its modification, the spell-check, dictionaries, e-books storage and use, digital planning lessons, word processing and many others. It finds application in the field of sports in the calculation of speed, distance and time; pre-flight planning and assistance to the glider pilots in navigation linked to the use of GPS, and for road rallyist with GPS assisted navigation.

Digital Equipment Corporation Western Research Laboratory (WRL) developed iPaq originally. It runs on an Intel Pentium III processor or an Intel Celeron processor with a processing speed of 500 MHz to 1 GHz. It has a memory ranging from 128 MB to as much as 512 MB.

Mini laptop computers are being called by a variety of things besides mini laptops. They are being sold as netbooks and mini notebooks as well. In order to be considered more than just a netbook, a mini laptop has to meet certain requirements although computer marketing people, as well as the computer makers, attempt to blur the lines in order to make more money. A mini laptop should have a monitor screen that is more than 10.5 inches diagonal whereas a netbook computer monitor can be anywhere from 8 inches to 10.5 inches. A netbook will have some version of UNIX (UNIX, Linux or BSD) or Windows XP installed. Anything more powerful than Windows XP is installed on mini laptops. Mini laptops will include an optical drive and a netbook computer will not.

Moving Computer Files between Mini Laptop Computers

It’s obvious that anything described as a mini laptop should have several means of moving or copying files to them. Let’s focus on the mini laptops that are being called netbooks since netbooks don’t include optical drives. The lack of an optical drive makes it difficult to install software on a netbook as well as limiting the file copying and moving options.

The primary way of getting computer files, including music and movie files, onto a netbook is by downloading them or transferring them over the Internet, hence the reason for the “net” part of netbook. Downloading is pretty commonplace and there are various means of doing so. Most people just download files from websites, which make them available, using standard web browsers and third party hosts for extremely large files. Transferring from another computer to a netbook is a little trickier, usually requiring remote connection software on both sides.

Another way to get files onto a netbook, or any mini laptop, is to use USB drives. USB drives come in a variety of flavors including USB flash drives, USB hard drives and even USB optical drives (as in CD, regular DVD or Blu-Ray drives). All modern computers have at least two USB ports, usually more. The mini laptops are no exceptions. The only drawback is the speed of moving files over USB drives. Of course, the USB drive has to be large enough to hold the files in question.

Installing Software on Netbook Computers

Installing software on a netbook computer is easy enough if done through files downloaded from the Internet. As long as this particular kind of mini laptop has an internal drive large enough to hold the files, there isn’t a problem. There are sometimes problems with netbooks with Windows XP installed when the netbooks have solid state drives instead of hard disk drives. The solid state drives currently come in four and eight gigabyte sizes and the operating system, swap file and other related files eat up most of the space.

Installing software from a USB drive is easy enough as well, as long as executable files are being worked with. Needless to say, without a USB optical drive, CD and DVD software installation can be a challenge. If you have a USB drive large enough to hold what would fit on a CD or DVD, there is a way to do it which is relatively painless once you get the hang of it.

There is a ton of free software available for download which will let you convert installation CDs or DVDs to image files. Having the software on both the source computer and the netbook will make it a process that requires converting a computer file on one end to an image, putting it on a USB drive, copying it to the netbook, mounting the image (using the same software) on the netbook and then installing as if it was a regular optical disc.

If you own a mini laptop without an optical drive, you are getting what you pay for. Netbooks are cheaper in price than other mini-laptops and easier to use for mobile computing, but they have their drawbacks. As long as you are aware of the drawbacks, you can use netbooks just like any other notebook computers. Of course, getting the right netbook for your particular needs is a whole different story.

There may come a time when you need send a file over the Internet that your email service just can’t handle. Sending large files is a pain, especially when your email spends quite a bit of time trying to attach it before finally tell you that it is just too big.

For business travellers this is a much greater problem as they often have to send large documents, sales proposals or complicated spreadsheets with macros.

As a local business sending large files and photos can be a problem so I spoke to my local computer repair company who were very helpful and gave me some very sound advice.

It seems that videos are becoming more popular online, you may have a hard time sending these out as well. Photos and videos are getting larger and longer, thanks to advances in digital photography, and sometimes, there is no way to share these without displaying them publicly online.

When you are sending large files, you have to find a source other than your email to do so. There are many sites that will help you with this, and some are geared towards business use.

You will find sites, can be used to send just about anything. Some will save the information on their server for a period of time, allowing the recipient a few days to a week to pick up the file on their own computer. After that time period, the file then disappears.

You do have a lot of choices today for sending large files, though at one time, this was unheard of online. People are beginning to rely on the Internet more and more for personal and business communications, and the Internet is trying to keep up.

When choosing a site for sending large files, you have a lot to consider. Price is a factor, as well as the size of the files that particular site can handle. If your file is too large, there may be no one who can handle the information. You may then have to chop it up into smaller pieces and send it that way.

If sending large files for business is an ongoing and increasing problem then it may be more cost effective to try and find an alternate in house solution. The advantage of course is that on the one hand the ongoing cost could be less, but more importantly you will be sure that your data will be as secure as it can be in your own hands.

For the time being , depending whether you need a business or home user large file sending service at least now you know that there are such services available online if you find your self in need of a quick fix or an ongoing solution.

Admittedly, appearance should be one of the last factors considered by prospective camera buyers but there is no doubt that the Canon 870 is a fairly attractive piece of technical equipment. Also available is the “gold” finished version, which looks almost like a piece of jewelery. In terms of size, it’s about the same as a pack of playing cards, which means it fits easily into a pocket or handbag.

The Canon Ixus 870 is more than just a good looking digital camera, it packs serious photographic technology. A wider angle of view than most of its competitors is due to the lens being the equivalent of a 28mm-112mm lens. No longer is Canon’s image-stabilisation technology only available in high-end models. It’s been incorporated into the Canon 870 and that means that sharp images can be produced without a tripod down to approximately 1/25 of a second.

Also available in the Canon 870 is automatic face detection. This works pretty well and usually can detect a face even in part-profile. There is even a gimmicky Face Self-Timer function that will wait for you to rejoin the group before it photographs the group. It has 19 scene modes as well as a handy macro setting and a 30fps VGA movie mode.

The Canon Ixus 870 IS boasts Canon’s DIGIC 4 processing technology that promises less noise at higher ISO settings but still there is much noise at 1600 ISO which is not-bad considering the class of camera.

Also, the Canon 870 features a 28mm wide-angle lens allowing for great photos of picturesque landscapes and delightful group photos. Viewing your favorite photos has never been so good with the awesome 3.0 inch PureColor LCD screen.

It’s not a “serious” Canon Digital camera in the usual sense and no one is going to mistake the Canon 870 for one. For example, you won’t find an optical viewfinder or manual mode. But no biggie if all you want are fabulous photos, then this camera won’t disappoint.
